Huggies Little Snugglers vs. Pampers Swaddlers (Newborn) - WeHaveKids - FamilyHuggies Little Snugglers vs. Pampers Swaddlers (Newborn)Rosa is a homework mother of 2 active children. A fictional and non-fiction author enjoys reading almost as much as writing. In this review, we compare two popular diaper products for newborns: Huggies Little Snugglers and Swaddlers Pants. What's better the diaper? I wanted to use cloth diapers in my newborn; however, she came 6 weeks earlier, and I stayed with little choice, but to use disposable diapers until she was big enough to fit into fabrics. This gave me the opportunity to use and compare the two brand-name diaper brands: Huggies and Pampers. Although these products seem almost equal and tout similar benefits, they were not created the same, as I found out. The pamphlets work best for my baby My final conclusion is that the Swaddler pants are better, at least up to the size of diaper 3. To see why I chose Pampers, compare the following aspects of these two diapers: The closing tab in Huggies.© I'm RosaPampers' closing chip.© I'm Rosa1. DesignWinner: Pampers The size of newborn diapers is the same for both brands, and the design seems almost identical, with the exception of the shape of the closing tab and waist. Both diaper marks work the same; however, Huggies tabs present some problems. Huggies TabsY, yes, the diaper falls. We had an unpleasant episode of baby urine filtering everywhere because the tab on one side had come undone and the diaper had dried up enough that the baby was not adequately covered. Pampers Tabs The tabs give the Pampers a great advantage over Huggies on function. The baby Winnie-the-Pooh characters in Huggies diapers can be seen on the left, while the Pampers have baby Sesame Street characters on the right.© I am RosaA close-up of the (slightly Creepy?) baby Sesame Street characters on Pampers.2. Visual CallWinner: HuggiesHuggies has a cute Baby Pooh Bear pattern with a colorful print while Pampers destins the babies from Sésamo Street. While the commercial invention and the prostitution of "baby" versions of loved characters is offensive to me, I would rather look at Baby Pooh than the slightly creepy Sesame Street babies. The Huggies brand gets my vote for this category. What do you think best? Huggies waist (left) and Pampers waist (right). I'm Rosa3. Umbilical Cord ClearanceWinner: TieThe Huggies umbilical cord cutting brand has better belly clean than the umbilical cord Pampers. However, I found that the top of the Pampers brand diaper over the waist is loose enough that does not interfere with or irritate the umbilical cord in any way. The Huggies line.© I'm RosaThe Pampers line.© I'm Rosa4. LinerWinner: PampersHuggies LinerPampers Liner The moisture indicator. Yellow = dry.© I am RosaBlue = wet.© I'm Rosa5. Humidity IndicatorWinner: The TieBoth marks have a yellow-line-shaped moisture indicator that runs through the center of the diaper in front of the back. When the diaper is wet, the line becomes blue. Can I find a useful moisture indicator? Not really. I find it almost impossible to lose the heavy bulk and smell of a wet diaper. I've never needed an indicator in the past, and I'm never looking for one. This is a meaningless "perk" for me, although Dad finds the indicator priceless. I've grown up slowly, but I'd prefer to have a diaper with a "stern indicator" so we don't have to do the " smell test" to find out if the baby left us a gift. You use it? Sister Huggies has several problems with how it fits. For one, there is too much diaper!6. FitWinner: PampersHow Huggies FitHow Pampers FitBonus points to Pampers for a great fit. Conclusion: Huggies Failed to Perform These two diapers seem to be clones to each other, right at the price. While the Huggies brand seems to be of greater quality due to its special advantages, those advantages could not boost them over Pampers in functionality. The adjustment was the most important factor for me. A pack of Huggies was enough of a nightmare that my dear baby returned to Pampers, and there it will stay until it is big enough to fit into cloth diapers. Update: Baby Pampers grow When the baby hit size 3 in diapers, the Pampers started to give us problems. We had leaks and real soak-through problems after a few hours. We definitely changed Huggies, and, although we still hate silica accounts, Huggies fits better now. Absorption is also much better. For a while, we used diapers of the president's election, but as he moved to small children's sizes, they stopped fitting properly and simply didn't absorb enough to spend the night. So we're stuck with the same dilemma: Huggies Pull-Ups or Pampers Easy Ups Training Pants? What about the clothes diapers? When our daughter reached 8 pounds and was finally big enough to fit into cloth diapers, we did a ton of research to find the best. We made a huge financial investment in the cloth diapers we thought would make us better. And then we discovered some scratches in the "parents' dream." Here is my review of . CommentsJoanna on December 27, 2019: Great ReviewBrynne on August 14, 2018: The price you've put blows my mind. I have my 88 packs of Huggies diapers in the superstore for 22.97. Or Walmart is 2 for $40 all the time. Rosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on December 15, 2016: Thank you for sharing, Melinda! Melinda on December 15, 2016: I love the panfletos. My daughter had 5 pounds 7 ounces and the mimes fit so well, we used the sensitive and smell-free type for newborns. I don't know if you've seen the newest diapers that the mimos have made but they're for the preemigos under 3 pounds, I think, the diapers are incredibly small... I have been in the hospital for the last 3 months with my second child, he is a child, Kodah due dec 31st 2016.... and I see the preemigos every day, some of the girls in this unit that I am having babies in the ICU and use Pampers in all the babies who pass through the ICU, as well as when they are in regular units with mom... I listened to some people saying that the mimos are not so good for a child but I think I'm still going with them anyway, as they worked so well for my daughter and all they've done to help the preemigos, I prefer to put my money on it, because I've seen what the difference makes have a less than 3 pounds diaper instead of a 10 and low as the huggies has or a less than 7 pounds, with the difference. I'm glad to read this article, thank you so much for publishing it... thank you, Melinda. I wish on October 29, 2016: We have 5 children and we have always used Pampers for them as newborns because Huggies did not fit in too. We had 2 that were born 5 and 4 weeks before and the Pampers brand fits wonderfully! That said, when they became bigger, we fell in love with the Pampers and changed Huggies. We always recommend our friend/family to start with Pampers for NB'sRosa Marchisella (author) from Canada on June 12, 2015: Hey MarloByDesign! Do you think if you sent Huggies a bill for all the extra clothes they create, they'd change their design? LOLMarlo ByDesign from United States on June 12, 2015: I find Huggies filtering much more than Pampers. I don't like Huggies immensely - too many soaked clothes!! Rosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on December 6, 2014: Hey cheyenne2014; Thank you for sharing your experiences! ... Ahhhh, blown boots .... *shudder* lolcheyenne2014 on December 6, 2014:We are a huggies family right now, my daughter also received chemical burns from mimos, never had a problem with silica accounts, but tge snugglers are made with different material now that what is shown above. I love how soft they are and I never felt a wet foot diaper because it absorbs moisture so well. They blew up a couple of diapers, but what baby didn't they? I found that he doesn't do it so often when I make sure that the internal leg bands stretch their leg and don't let it bend. I love my Huggies Snugglers Rosa Marchisella (author) from Canada on October 10, 2014:YIKES, KatieLynn2011! Poor baby :- We have recently tried Pampers Pull ups (they were for sale cheaper than the store brand) and the chemical bank was horrible! Instant migraine :- I'm so glad you found something that works well for your daughter :-) Katie from Arkansas on October 9, 2014: I prefer huggies for my daughter. I bought a few mimes once and they burned my daughter every time! But I have found that the brand's diapers are also working with Rosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on August 23, 2013: I'm glad to hear that they work so well for your family. Thanks for the feedback, topkidsreview :-) David Heinz de Salt Lake City, UT on August 23, 2013: I think Huggies is the best. They will keep all things and I've never had a problem with them. They're so easy to use and keep everything inside. Rosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on January 20, 2013: Go back to the shit! Lol I'm glad you could find diapers you can trust. I find it interesting to see that other parents are also having to change between brands as their child grows. Thank God for variety and options! ExpectGreat Illinois Things on January 20, 2013:Interesting hub and comments. We use fabric with our daughter, but because of the frequent blows of our son, we look high and low to find something that contained the disorder. Pampers won for us. We usually move to the next size before their weight indicated that we should move, when they started leaking. We'd rather have Huggies for the hoists. Rosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on December 20, 2012:@ wizardofodds - Thank you for your feedback! @miranda - Very good information. Thanks for the details. It is always interesting to hear about other people's experiences. I suspect that every child is different (even in the same family). We actually found that once our daughter hit size 3, Pampers gave us trouble and we had to change Huggies! We still hate silica accounts, but the adjustment is better now and so is absorption. It's funny how things work - I'll have to add an update to this article! Look on December 20, 2012:We prefer Huggies. We actually had the opposite experience in everything, except the tabs. We tried to look for a week and they didn't fit well with our son. He's always leaked from them and they've slipped into the background. He also seemed irritated by the mimes. This was extremely irritating considering we've been wrong about mimos packages. Since we changed Huggies, we couldn't be happier. Kayla Brown of Wichita, Kansas on October 16, 2012: I totally agree with your conclusion! When I was testing the diapers for my first, I came to find that Pampers overcame Huggies! Rosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on August 12, 2012: Allergies are an interesting topic that is not usually mentioned. I'm curious about what Huggies uses that would cause rashes in your son. Perfumes? Or the materials? Thanks for sharing your experience with these brands. 4th on August 12, 2012: I have an allergic reaction to almost all diaper marks but Huggies so they have used them for all my children except my second. He would get rashes as soon as huggies would touch him so we used the mark of mimos for him, honestly I hated them. They were always falling on the sides or he was constantly filtering, I only had the worst experience with them. Huggies, however, use silica but if you change them right away in the diaper, they don't let them get it for all their vagues. My twins just turned 1 last month, and I never had to go through that. Also the closures that I like biggies cuz is more difficult for them to undo when they do not try to remove their diapers. My children r super active do not take the nap, have not coined during the day since 5 months of age in the huggies moves r a perfect fit for them. Rosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on August 7, 2012: I'm glad you found it helpful! Thank you for commenting :-) Helna Reneesh on August 7, 2012: Oh I prefer the mimos of all other brands your really worth the ur point price is really informativeRosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on July 11, 2012:WOW! Sounds like it was a tough night! Thank you for sharing! Kaitlin on July 11, 2012: I prefer the Huggies for my son... I tried to use a peeping night... I put 4 and he pissed 3! I never had that problem with the huggies... Just a better fit for it I suppose thatRosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on April 26, 2012: Thank you for sharing your experience, Laralulu! Lauralulululu on April 25, 2012:We experience the opposite in comparison. Pants (not dry max) created ampoules of chemicals they use to absorb moisture. I myself and my baby prefer silica over him from time to time and without chemical burns. I thought I'd add my two cents. Rosa Marchisella (author) of Canada on January 18, 2012: Thank you, ladies for your feedback. I was debating to try Huggies again when my little one is ready for a bigger size to see if they work better. After reading your comments, I am encouraged to continue through that. jacqui2011 from Norfolk, United Kingdom on January 18, 2012: It has been a few years since my daughters were babies, but I change around 50 puppies a day as a nurse. At work we use mimos in babies up to about 1 year. I think when they're mobile, the Huggies seem to fit better. I love the fact that there is a moisture indicator, since this can be so much time that it consumes in the nursery. Informational and well-researched article. Voted and useful. New 2011 Pennsylvania Mom, USA January 17, 2012:I've had Huggies for my daughter until recently. It seemed that the Huggies would filter more than the Pampers, or even the generic diapers called. After she became more mobile and sleep through the night I have a free sample of Huggies and Pampers diapers. I used the Huggies first on it, because I had bad luck with them before, but they ended up being better than the Pampers! There are no leaks, there are troubles that leak anywhere, and they also seemed to feel good about it. I should have started using Huggies on it a month or two for when he slept, but it's okay. Eileen de Kildare, Ireland on January 17, 2012: I had tried both Pampers and huggies and found that Pampers is a much better nanny for my son. Unfortunately, the Huggies failed me several times and leaked. So I just bought Huggies once and I've been with Pampers until today. Huggies Vs Pampers: How to choose the best diapers for your baby by ← Apr 24, 2020As Amazon Associate we won a small commission of qualifying purchases. Huggies Vs Pampers: How to choose the best diapers for your new babyBeing for parenting can be discouraging. Not only does there seem to be so many different things you need for your baby, but many different brands have their own version of each product you should choose. Once such a choice you will have to do is what the diapers your baby will use. The two most popular diaper brands on the market are Pampers and Huggies, and there seems to be a continuous debate on which it is the best brand of use. Both Pampers and Huggies cost approximately the same and are quite reliable diapers, but some parents swear by one or the other. Choosing the right diapers for your baby is really important – not only helps prevent leaks and disorders, but the proper brand of diapers will ensure your baby stays comfortable and irritating free. To help you make the decision about what brand is best for your baby, we have made a deep comparison of Huggies and Pampers. Product Lines To compare the two, we must first look at the product lines offered by both. There are several options with Huggies and Pampers, to adapt to different ages and needs. Huggies Product LineHuggies sells six different types of diapers in total, which is a fair amount. Knowing your different products and offers will make your decision easier. Small Snugglers Small Snugglers are meant for newborn babies. It starts in premature size, up to 3 kg, to newborn size, up to 4.5 kg. This range is one of the only diaper ranges that offers a diaper with a umbilical cord cut, which prevents the diaper from rubbing the area, further avoiding irritation and infection. The diaper front has a moisture indicator, with a soft and dry interior. Check the or. Small Movers The range of the Small Movers is for babies who have just overcome the rank of the Small Desnugglers and are starting to move more. This range of diapers has a SnugFit waist and a contoured design to better adapt to mobile bodies. Click here for a .Snug & Dry Diapers With a LeakLock feature, the Snug " Dry Diaper avoids leakage, with a waist that helps ensure the diaper has a tight fit. OverNites These diapers are thicker than the average diaper, as they have additional layers of absorbence to ensure that your child sleeps well at night, free from leaks. Prices depend on the size of the diaper and the size of the package, but it is usually between 30c and 50c per .Pull-Ups The Pull-Ups range is for when it is time to start potty training. Pull-Ups help keep them dry when accidents occur, while still allowing them to learn to use the toilet on their own. The photos on the front of the diapers will begin to fade when the diaper is wet. Choose from Boys or Girls' designs in or Pampers Product LinePampers has 5 products on your line, and are quite similar to the Huggies range. Swaddlers The swaddlers are intended for new babies, and are the diapers commonly used for babies in the hospital. They range from 1.5 kg to 3kg, for the smallest of babies. Swaddler diapers are supposed to be the softest around and are safe for sensitive and delicate skin. There is a color-changing moisture indicator in the front. Click here for a .Baby-DryBaby-Dry diapers are for newborns and older babies, and for young children. These diapers have three layers of absorbence that work well to prevent leaks and can be used up to 12 hours. The sides of the diapers are stretched for comfort, but they are still swollen. They also have very cute characters in the front. Click here for a .Cruisers Cruisers are for infants and young children in the march. The diapers adjust snugly to allow them to move easily and as they are not bulky, they do not get in the way of playing. Easy UpsEasy The ups and downs are training diapers for young children who are training in pottery. They can be pulled up and down like underwear, or booted for the change of the nanny. They also have a moisture indicator. There is a variety of designs. UnderJams UnderJams are for children up to 35 kg, and are bed products. They are good for children trained in pottery who need help with night pottery training. They are similar to Easy Ups but are more like underwear and have better absorption. Check rates at or diaper Absorbence Comparison Absorbity is one of the most important factors to consider when buying diapers. It doesn't make sense to buy diapers that don't last more than an hour or two. Diapers are used to stop leaks by having a high absorption capacity. Most diapers manufactured today use superabsorben polymer (SAP) that is able to absorb 800 times its own weight. Huggies and Pampers will absorb their baby's urine, but Pampers seem to act better when it comes to the absorption rate. Huggies scored less than the Pampers for absorence, but this doesn't mean they're not effective. Material Quality You want to make sure that you are putting a diaper on your baby that is soft and soft on your skin, while it is still durable enough to keep the leaks and messes. Tong diapers are made of a very soft material that any parent would be happy to use on your baby's skin. The upper back and wide legs give the diaper more coverage and therefore allow less leaks. Side tabs are used to keep the diaper together, and while they are very stretched for a smooth but comfortable fit, it tears easily. Huggies diapers are not as soft as Pampers, but they are still a good quality material that suits a baby's skin. The diapers feel a bit thicker than the Pampers, which gives a little more confidence to their durability and absorption. The waist and legs give a good fit in while still stretched. What's better for the day? Having a reliable diaper during the day is so important. The last thing you want is to worry about inappropriate diapers while your baby wants to spend the day playing. The best diaper for the time of day is the Baby-Dry of Pampers. It has more physical coverage that keeps babies dry for longer and is perfectly suited for an active baby during the day. The contoured and adjusted setting leaves the leaks before they happen, but they are not bulky and do not get in the way of your baby during the day. What's better for the night? Pampers Overnight diapers provide more coverage, but are not so good to prevent leaks for longer periods. The Huggies OverNites are the best diapers to use during the night. They've got a lot of absorbence and less leakage than other puppies. This is due to the twisted legs and the snout fits around the waist. Highlight the features Both Huggies and Pampers have different product lines, and each diaper range has its own set of features. Here are some of the support features in each product line. Huggies Little Movers Huggies Little Movers diapers have a label on each of their diapers, indicating the size and type of diaper. This is especially useful when you have multiple types of diapers at home or two children in diapers of different sizes. The twisted legs of the diapers and the stretched waist also make them a great fit. The added moisture indicator only makes the diaper much easier for parents, saving them from having to check the inside of their puppies continuously. Baby-Dry and Overnights Both the Baby-Dry and the Overnights have good coverage, which really makes these diapers stand out. Both the front and back of the diapers rise higher than Huggies, who works more to keep her baby dry and free from leaks. Huggies OverNitesHuggies OverNites combine the best features of the Huggies Little Movers, but with an additional absorption to protect your baby through the night. Decide on the right brand The only way you'll really know which brand is right for you will be to buy a package from each and try them out. Some nights are more drastic than others and some days have less accidents, so try a brand of nappies for a week at a time or until the diapers are finished (you wouldn't want to waste them!). You should be able to say what diapers are the best suited for your baby. When it comes to prices, Huggies and Pampers have a very similar price, and will probably be able to find one or the other especially at any time. Trousers and Huggies – A Comparison At the end of the day, both Pampers and Huggies are great diaper options – both have been trusted by parents for decades. There is no clear winner with what brand is best, but Pampers tend to have better diapers for the day, while Huggies wins for the best night diapers. Both brands have a wide range, and you will be able to find the right! Related articles: Amazon and Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc, or its affiliates.
